JPEG to JXL
Archive your JPEGs and recover the exact originals.
A few things to know
Select several JPEG images to convert them in order. A failed image does not stop the rest. Retry individual failures, download completed images, or save them together as a ZIP. Cancelling keeps completed results; convert again to continue the remaining images. ZIP preparation can be cancelled separately.
Accepts JPEG files supported by the encoder, including baseline, progressive and grayscale JPEGs. Unsupported or damaged files fail without a lossy fallback. Original ICC, EXIF, orientation and any trailing data must survive the byte-for-byte round-trip check.
This is an archive format, not a guarantee of wider image-viewer compatibility. No JXL preview is required; download and restore the archive to view the original JPEG. Savings vary by file and some archives are larger. This does not improve image quality or remove private metadata.
A large image may need substantial memory. Cancel discards the unfinished result of the current image. Completed images stay available. Stopping processing and releasing memory may take a moment. Decoding shows a stage indicator; row counts appear only while writing a pixel-converted PNG or JPG. Original JPEG restoration and JPEG archiving show stage indicators.
