The HEIC converter is a separate standalone program, containing LGPL-3.0-or-later libheif and libde265 IJG/BSD libjpeg-turbo and MIT Little CMS. It does not link gifsicle or GPLv2 codec code. Supported HEIC HDR conversion uses released libultrahdr 2.0.2 ICC helpers in the HEIC extractor and a separate packer in a disposable worker, loaded only when required.
